he Gloom was formed in the winter of 2004 by Emma-O and The Futz bass player Edgar LeBel. Starting off as a somewhat experimental, free-flowing project, The Gloom eventually became the moody, dark, goth-inspired, "sadcore" solo project it is today.

With themes of sadness, isolation, death and loss, The Gloom is a poetic, cathartic exploration of the darker side of the human condition, and of Emma-O.

In November 2004, Emma-O self-recorded and produced The Gloom's official 4-song demo. There is a volumous backlog of The Gloom material which Emma-O plans to re-write and release on a forthcoming full-length album. If you would like to order a copy of The Gloom demo for $5, please email Emma-O for details.

The Gloom is a recording project. There are no plans for live shows. This may change if Emma-O decides to find band members for The Gloom.
